Del.icio.us “Tagometer” Wordpress Widget

I don’t know if anybody else has already created one, but it seems almost too obvious and simple to not do it.

I whipped up a Wordpress Widget for the new Del.icio.us “Tagometer” badge. No need to thank me, its probably the simplest widget ever written.

Download Del.icio.us Tagometer Widget (.gz file)

Super-simple install. Just download and un-gzip in your “wp-content/plugins” directory and enable it in the control panel. You can then add it like any other Wordpress widget. No configuration necessary (or possible).

You can see an example at right, under “Tagometer”.

For those of you who are old fashioned, you can also call the functions directly from your Wordpress templates to customize where the badge ends up.

And I shall call her “Widget”…

James was the big winner in the name-my-cat sweepstakes with the suggestion of “Widget”. That one stuck. And even non-geeky girls think its cute.

Widget!

On a side note, Widget has a nasty little kitten cold. You don’t understand the true joys of pet ownership until you have a kitten with a stuffed nose sniffling directly in your ear all night because she insists on sleeping on your pillow. Its time she got acquainted with her new vet…

Note: I promise not to become one of those bloggers who does nothing but blog about their cat, but I felt it was necessary to post the results of the kitten-naming.

Kitten Naming Conventions

I am now the owner of a beautiful little female kitten.

Kitten!

But she has no name.

So I’m looking for good names. Geeky names. Like “Jakarta“, “Nibble“, or maybe even a recursive cat acronym. Feed me some ideas…

Update: I’ve posted a small album of photos of the Kitten-That-Hath-No-Name
